In our ongoing commitment to environmental sustainability, Carbondebits is excited to share news of an extended partnership with Rioterra. Following our successful collaboration with Agroforestry Carbon, Rioterra will join us in expanding planting efforts in 2024, particularly in the Rondônia Province near Bolivia.
Carbondebits, together with Rioterra, has big plans for the coming year. We’re set to cover over 100 hectares on the west side of Brazil, reinforcing our dedication to combat deforestation and address climate change. The collaboration with Rioterra aims to plant an impressive 300,000 trees in the first half of 2024, showcasing our commitment to environmental conservation and sustainable ecosystems.
Alexis Bastos, the director of Rioterra, expressed pride in the partnership, emphasizing its positive effects on local communities, biodiversity, and climate. The focus extends beyond merely planting trees, emphasizing creating traditional agroforestry systems. These systems, consisting of over 50 tree and plant species, are designed not only to sequester carbon but also to provide sustenance for local communities, create wildlife corridors, and act as crucial carbon sinks for climate change mitigation.
At the core of our joint initiative with Rioterra is the commitment to positively impact local communities, enhance biodiversity, and support diverse flora and fauna. This approach addresses both environmental concerns and contributes to the well-being of the communities in the region.
Bastos stressed the significance of the partnership, noting that a seemingly simple act can make a substantial difference for society. This underscores the broader mission of Carbondebits and Rioterra – to create tangible change in the Amazon region and beyond, showcasing how collective efforts can have a lasting impact on the planet.
Stay tuned for more announcements on partnerships and project developments as Carbondebits continues to set an inspiring example of how corporate initiatives can lead the way toward a more sustainable future.
